[2025/04/12, 08:22:00] Warren De Jager: Morning Anton... mostly, my HTH pee-bottle worked overtime though... but I'm used to that and generally get back to sleep quickly.

Ventilation:- more specifically, condensation management. So far no problem, but only winter will truly tell. My answer is a chain-latch on the entry door, and I leave it closed with just a Crack open like I say, seems to be sufficient.
Come winter, I have a buddy heater that burns butane, so I'll leave the other side door ajar... So far ,even with no insulation I'm warm.
 

Daardie verwarmer kan CO afgee dan word hy dalk nooit weer wakker nie. Ek het al vertel hoe ‘n jong dame wat ek geken het toe sy ‘n klein dogtertjie was en haar verloofde oorlede is vanwee CO wat ‘n gasgeyser wat nie reg geïnstalleer was nie afgegee het. Die eienaar van die gastehuis is in Januarie skuldig aan moord bevind.

The Eeco van has 2 sliding doors. One, (passanger side) is my entry/exit, and the other is access to my Powersupply & 12v compressor fridge / freezer.

Come time to use the heater, I'll leave this door 60 or so mm open, and the heater is directly in front of the opening... like to get my hands on a detector though..

I still have the Landy, spent 25 days in December at Bloemhof dam... 

Bought a second gearbox to which I'm  having the V8 torque converter fitted, and having it completely overhauled... Costaplenty, but worth it.

At 70, it does not make sense to buy another 4x4 at 1 mil + so I'm sticking with it until it breaths its last, then 4x4 is verby 

Sadly my soul mate Scruffy passed and although my family bought me a dog, it's not the same... I miss her terribly 😔

It’s great to hear from you again Warren. I like your setup. As per the slogan on the side, that’s the advantage of traveling alone - you can keep it simple. That van must have decent fuel consumption too.

Hello Warren. Ek het gewonder wat van jou geword het. Jy praat van  amper 70 jaar oud. As ek reg onthou is ons dieselfde ouderdom vanjaar, kort op 70 se hakke.

Werk jy nog by die plastiek " moulding" fabriek. Jou mini camper is ń uitstekende plan, en lyk pragtig. Kan ek vra of jou voete uithang, of is die laairuim lank genoeg.

A bit of context

I planned my little suzuki eeco panel van to suffice for around 4 days..... goes to the size of the fridge and a whole bunch of other resources 

 But this wee bugger has such a big heart, and has performed so eloquently since I started the build-out, I'm pushing for this trip, which is 10 days...

So far the only iffy thing is my meat (and I got's) lots, is a bit squished, and I've had to supplement a cooler box & ice.

I'm also running full solar, for the first time, 70w input, 35w output..... so first POC (proof of concept) .....

my bad, I've had wiring issues, but it seems to be sorted, but that's a tale for another post.

Sitting here, soon haasie dassie inni son, lieflike blou gazebo boe' die kamp-plek, en warm, vroeg oggend sonskyn.

So I time to address the elephant 🐘  in the room VIS why I stopped participating on the forum.

No names, no backpack.... right ?

I did not like the somewhat nasty tone in some of the replies to my. Yes quirky, gemengde ta.al, probably too long posts, so rather than create a fuss, I broke camp and went off to find another forum campground.

So why back?

Mainly Anton looked me up and took special effort to make this post on my behalf, and perhaps its time to let by-gones be by-gones...

Tonight it's rump, chicken salad & coke...Tomorrow off to the veiling at Cowboy town in krugersdorp, and when I get back, I'll pitch full camp en word lekker rustig...

Cowboy town is n beleefinis, a theme village based on the cowboy Era, and it's got everything... auction, flea-market stalls, rust and iron shops ou good, kaggel-kak resturaunts and much more... Quite an outing,worth at least one day visit, who knows you might get hooked.

I’m happy to have you back, please stick around. Cowboy town sounds like fun. Post some pictures of it.

....hopefully not on any hierjy saloon girl.  Much more expensive than rusty old iron and kaggel kak restaurants.
