Right now I'm camping at zelpy, ( old Eastco) in magaĺliesberg.
Just finished supper, sitting by a small fire, looking at space, solitude and the stars.
November last year my platkar was written off by a 2 ton truck that skipped a robot and T boned me.
Took the opportunity to go in a completely different camping direction that I've been very keen on for a long time, VIS micro vehicle camping which is a janre all of its own, and is just a bit more than nano vehicle camping, there they build out cars into camping platforms, from Smart cars to saloons.
Next group is van camping, and it goes on from there...
Anyhow, I bought a brand new Suzukie Eeco panelvan, which is now my daily driver. My camping platform and by design, can be made back into a panel van as everything is removable.
Solar, Li-iron power supply, 12v compressor fridge freezer, full length bed and storage more than sufficient for one person., tailgate chuck & cookbox and scullary basins.
Add to that, a 270deg gull wing 1.8m awning, side panels, and I have a very comfortable pitch.... I'll send some pics.

Built the roofrack myself, and again did a moer of a lot of sewing Grrrrrr still not finished.... mostly the set up is 100 % functional, but there are a lot of things that I've still to move from functional to complete, and this kak weather ain't helpful😳

Very cost effective
My concept is to be able to use it as a panel van, a daily driver and a camping platform.
Not so easy, as it only has a 1200cc engine.
So no cabinets and nothing fixed.
Also limited to how much on the roofrack because it's narrow but tall
As a daily driver, it's cost effective to run. Insurance / tyres / maintenence / fuel so that's a big boost to the wallet.
Down side is it's no formulae 1 racecar but it's happy on most roads at 100
Can't... no dare not go much faster in morning and afternoon traffic.... this is J/burg we're talking about.
Looses momentum fast on uphills though so you need to use the gearbox.... not a problem, theres a whole box full... just gotta find the right one...
A Wizz to get in and out of shopping centre's and has a very small turning circle
It's luxuriously appointed.....about the same as a Kalarhie Ferrari (1400 Nissan bakkie) NE!
