Ek (en Yvonne) plus n n vriend van my (en sy vrou) beplan n mini toer met Froggy en sy Motorhome.
Dit gaan so 10 dae toer wees en ons wil so 4 damme besoek:
Bloemhof / Vanderkloof / Gariep en Adam (weet nie of daar dalk nog in die omgewing is nie. Dalk kan julle help.
Ons wil ook nie lang grondpaaie ry nie. Ek gaan my Suzuki Vitara saamsleep en ook n Venter waentjie.
Ons dink aan oorstaan by "Sandgat" naby Orania / Gariep se Forever Resort / Aldam Estate Holiday Resort. Ek weet net nie regtig van n plek by Bloemhof dam nie.
Enige raad sal waardeer word.

Ek het gehoor die plekke word tans gebruik vir covid herstel sentrums. Weet nie of dit waar is nie.

Harry dit klink moer lekke as ek dit so kan stel met ons Noord Kaap toer was ons vir n dag by Vanderkloof dam gewees nogal groot met nice huise rondom oord en paar nice eetplekke die oord by hulle nie te sleg nie geniet hom ou vriend Sandgat nice oord naby Orania

Bloemhof dam
Hi Harry.
To my mind, Bloemhof dam is one of the nicest dams around. The water is still beautifully clean.
If you are looking for a resort at Bloemhof dam itself, From Bloemhof, go over the bridge and turn right into Sandveldt, that will be on the Free-state side.
There you will find adequate bathrooms and facilities
But if you are looking to rough camp, (no bathrooms provided) Then you are indeed in for a treat.
Before you go over the bridge you will see the turn off to the Transvaal camp on the Left... Go in there, after booking in you can go right, along the fence and to the dam. Follow the road along the side of the dam towards the back, you can go for 20 – 25Km and pick a place....
That's where I go..... Nobody, no DOEF-DOEF music... Stilte & nature
You will see lots of game, and there are small carnivores and even brown hyena / vlakvark / tortoises and lot’s of different species of antelope.
Just don’t use the ablutions...... NE!

OK that sorts the dam itself out.
If you are happy to camp along the river below the dam wall, take the road just before Spar and follow it down, I think there are 2 or 3 resorts there, basic but clean.
The Spar’s not bad, and “why not” restaurant just opposite spar is not bad.
Other than that, the only fast-food joint is steers Oh could be a Kentucky not that shure now....

Ek dink ons moet die Sterkfontein dam en daai rigting in n volgende toer doen. Sien daar is n paar damme in daai rigting met hulle kamp plekke.
Sal dan weer n groepie damme opmaak wat nie te vêr van makaar af is nie.
Wag net dat my vriend sy nuwe Jimny kry, dan kan ons n bergpas of twee ook gaan ry.
Vier mense in n klein Suzuki is te beknop. As hy sy voertuig het, is ons ook sommer 2 voertuie, as een dalk gaan vasval of probleme optel.

Ai Harry, by Bloemhof weet ek van geen oorde meer nie, Warren sal dalk weet. Daar was wel baie jare terug 'n oord naby Christiana "Rob Ferrera" as ek nou reg onthou, maar deesdae, ek weet nie.
