Ons wil graag by Strandkloof naby Gansbaai gaan kamp. Die Overberg area is met sy geel kanola lande en baie blou kraanvoëls het vir my 'n spesiale bekoring. Dinge wat ons wil beloer is die vis- en perlemoen akwakultuur, die gesellige klein eetplekkies en die plaaslike mense. Strandkloof lyk na die ideale volgende uitspanplek!

Over the many years, of touring & camping throughout South Africa I’ve pretty much been to most places....
Some, like the Kruger, I hated, other places like the Eastern Cape took my breath away.
Many are the different modes of transport I’ve used to trot up & down both the Eastern and the Western coasts, from V8 Landrover’s to Vespa scooters...
I’ve rubber-ducked on the Wild coast <launched out at the Umtavuna River at Wild Coast casino and went to waterfall bluff>, / Pitched at caravan camps at Richards bay, St Lucia, Cape Vidal, Bendigo at Banana-Beach Umtentweni where I camped as a very young boy....
Drove the beach route from Vidal to Lucia & back, just before they closed it forever, where I took a young boy on a trip of a lifetime.... The lad was to become my son.....
Hiked the berg / Got lost in the Hans Merensky forest / slid down the rocks of the Debengeni waterfall / visited the Wood museum in Tzaneen / got chased out of the nature Goegaap nature reserve by an Ostrich that fell in love with me or my Vespa, / Bungee jumped off the Storms / did a big part of the concentration camp route / sat on the cannon up-top Long tom / And 10 years before the Transkei became part of South Africa again told the arrogant border officer that in 10 years they will be out of a job and Transkei will be my country again....
I’ve always said.... In 50 years I still have not covered all of this magnificent country of ours, and I really don’t need to go out of SA to see and experience.........
Nowadays, as I get into my lazy years, I’m content to sit by the waters of Bloemhof dam, 20 Km from the nearest soul with just me-n-my-mutt and a jolly good book for company, perchance to catch a fish....
But, when it comes to where I still want to go? Well that has to be up at BAGANI in the Eastern Caprivi....
For some reason, I still <and I think the right words are NEED TO> to re-visit those places of my army days......
Sadly, with all my ex military camping stuff, I’ll probably be camping in Windhoek jail....
