I think you all know that April last year, was very nearly the last April of my life thanks to COVID --- Yip it nearly took me out -----
Got it at work from a fella who knew he had it, did not disclose it "because he needed the money" and came to work for 5 days before he got too sick, (so that's how we found out), I had interacted with him on several occasions and well ----- That's how it happened.
Anyhow when I was eligable for the vaccine I went and got the jab --- No big deal having the jab, quite efficient & I have a little trick to settle nerves while having injections - I find something to count --- In this instance it was bricks - takes the mind off what's going on --- I got to brick 8 
A couple of houres later I began to have a reaction & felt grotty --- That went on for the day after - I felt miserable
Then I went for my second jab -- next day was terrible --- and the next ---- day three Fine
So for how long I'm covered who can tell, they don't have enough information --- But as COVID is just another type of flue, my guess (and in discussions with doctor's and other medical people I know --- best guess is for a year ---- So I'll be going for a refresher come July 2022 ---

The donkeymeds disciples are around everywhere on this forum so are the anti-vaxers :) Last time I dared to differ from this lot it did not go well :) By the way that little SARS-CoV-2 virus in all its variants is a far cry from "just another type of flu"! It causes people to drop like flies...Glad you took the step to protect yourselves and others around you...I will now bugger off again and keep my comments to myself

The choice to vaccinate or not to vaccinate is a personal thing, and I won’t get wound up in that discussion – Other than to say as the responsible COVID officer for our company, my policy is to encourage <note encourage not enforce> our workforce to vaccinate.
Nobody at this stage can say for how long the vaccination will be effective, and as it mutates, if the vaccinations that are available will be effective against new variants. COVID is a respiratory condition, and as such can be “broadly” grouped as flue – OBVIOUSLY one hell of a lot more virulent & deadly ---
I’m only using "like flue" a bench-mark as to when to be re-vaccinated, which I have benchmarked for July next year, - the info does come by the way of doctor's and other learned people I know, and they admit -it's all thumbsuck at this stage.
Me? I'll rather over vaccinate then have this bug again --- Trust me----- But I will keep abreast of information, which will take time before they can build the statistics of how long it remains effective.
Compulsory vaccination
Curro already said they will retrench teachers who refuse to vaccinate and I see Discovery said the same today (that they will retrench employees who refuse to vaccinate). I’m not saying that’s right; I’m just saying it’ll happen more and more, except obviously in the public sector.
