With that in mind, project cheap fishing station's made some progress... In fact nearly complete..

I’ve been posting about my project to re-abilitate fishing gear that, for the most part I have scrounged for almost nothing at our local garden refuse collection site. 

This has evolved into a Simple Sunday project; to see what’s the least amount of money I can spend to put together a complete fishing station.

So, with 3 reels and a tackle box for free, 2 of 12Ft rods for R10. And a tackle box stand for R50 I was in business and all that is left is to re-abilitate everything.

So far, my spreadsheet tells me I’m into the whole thing for a smidgeon under R600... 

Not much progress this weekend, but I did manage to scrounge a stand for my muti box, or as I call it my dupa-doos 

Basically a hideous rather nice little wooden side table that folds flat, the was given a really ugly going over with a some multicoloured water paints, and got hurled out when the hinge pin fell out.

A little tightening of the screws, a new hinge pin and a good going over with my favourite colour (military olive green) and it was good-t-go and added to the setup.

I know this is supposed to be to see how cheap I can make things, but I cheated and gave the stitching of the bias-binding and the Velcro for the sun screen over to my local haberdashery.... 

One of my other rubbish dump projects, my Husquerverna Pactica sewing machine, I still have not found a bobbin for it and I did not have the courage to hand sew 2.5 M of bias binding round the edge of the material for the sun-screen and about 2m of Velcro by hand. 

So, where am I at now? 

With brackets for handles ready, the sun screen almost ready, everything is almost complete, and I hope to be able to do final pictures come next Monday................. With photos of my next project, My 3 man grey Intek op-blaas boot Also long outstanding ...

Oh BTW, I’ve already got 3 bottle of dupa (Anisseed; honey glow & something that smells regtig bloomin aaaklig; 4 bomb springs and a policeman for free from the same place.

The dupa doos stand as I found it.... Free. Bliksems aaklig but has potential...

There now ! what a difference, a 4mm bolt for a hinge pin through the legs, an hour or so to paint a couple of hours to dry...
