Ek sê weer altyd vir die pompjoggie : "maak vol tot by die eerste kliek"  -  ek wil nie dat kosbare, meetbare brandstof bo by die vuller uitloop nie want dit mag dalk my verbruiksyfers nadelig beïnvloed.

Môre vriende

Na my diesel terugslag laas Meimaand in Sannieshof, het ek my groet verander.

Dit gaan so-- Dag, jy raak nie aan 'n pyp voor jy nie mooi luister nie, hierdie is 'n petrolbakkie.!!!! Het jy gehoor, of nie!!!! Goed, maak vol tot by outomatiese stop.

So jammer oom Len, dit kom nou daarvan as mens probeer "multi-task" op ons ouderdom! In elk geval, Goeie More!

Goeie môre kampmaters !

Ek groet maar vroeg vanmôre want die vroeg-opstaners ignoreer nog die gegroetery tot dusver.  Ek is vroeg op die been om my seun se besigheid se boeke en BTW te doen.  Ja, ek weet julle dink hierdie ouballie beteken nie meer veel nie, maar hier is darem nog goedjies hier en daar waarmee ek my besig hou.

Mooi dag vir julle  -  hier by ons in Kaapstad lê nog 'n week van baie warm kry voor ons teen volgende Woensdag 'n lafenissie mag kry.

Môre Len

Jy moet dalk jou dienste gratis aan die regeringsgroepe aanbied. Ek verneem die beloning[werksbevrediging] kan nogal vrugte, of is dit bande, afwerp.  

Goeiemôre almal!   Amper weer naweek en dan kan ons duik.

I stopped off on the way back and It's the most impressive waterfall I've ever experienced

Years ago I did all the falls in the Eastern Tranvaal ---  Paradise camp / Berlin falls / paris falls & Mac-Mac

Paradise camp --- you have to use a bit of imagination, but tens of thousands of years ago, it must have been a spectacular thing --- all that water plunging down the escarpment straight down into the lowveldt ---- utterly awesome

Mac-Mac I used my .38 and shot rounds into the pool at the bottom just to try & see how high it was

berlin Falls I climbed down to the bottom and made my way along the side & stood behind the water curtain on a ledge.... Another once-in-a-lifetime experience ---

If you can, go see Augrabies --- you won't get another chance... not like this

Although I agree that it must be an awesome view, BUT it will frighten me totally, all that donder and volume of water, that pulls one closer.    

Yes Warren, we have been to Augrabies a couple of times, even camped twice for a few days and enjoyed the walks and game drive. Saw it in flood a long time ago , it is spectacular, very similar to the Kunene river's Epupa Falls. similar in topography with the main falls and the multitude of side streams cascading down into the gorge.

There is one for your list, you will love the drive there, and the campsite is beautiful, on the banks of the Kunene.  Swartbooisdrift, close by, also has a nice campsite. During my border days , did a 3month camp there, the basic buildings are visible. And nearby is a Dorsland Trekker monument, they crossed into Angola at Swartbooisdrift. I read somewhere there are some dark colored Van der Merwes, who where the trekkers servants and touleiers  descendants, in Angola.

 Put phase 1 of my retirement plan into place about 6 years ago --- Bought my son a house with a cottage in the back,   <but kept it on my name so he can’t kick me out >

He & the money muncher’s live in the house, I live in the cottage----------he does the pool the garden the painting and and and

I lock up & go..

But phase 2 ----- That’s where it’s come a little bit adrift ----- Die reuk van geld is nog te smaaklik !

But one day --- one day ---- I’m gonna cash it all in -----

Then I can go jolly-patrollie all over --- maande aan een --- and come back to a blue swimming pool and a painted house---

Ek drink glad nie koffie nie so ek kom kyk net so dan en wan wat julle hier kwytraak wanneer ek ‘n opskrif sien wat lyk of dit interessant kan wees. Julle praatjies oor pompjoggies herinner my toe aan die dialek verskille. In die Ou Transvaal het ek ook altyd gevra dat hulle net tot automatic stop volmaak. Die brandstof kom uit ondergrondse tenks, en veral op ‘n warm dag as jy in die son gaan parkeer net na jy opgevul het sit die brandstof uit soos dit warmer raak en loop by die oorloop uit teen jou bakwerk af as die pyp ook vol brandstof was. Hier in die Wes-Kaap verstaan pompjoggies nie wat automatic stop beteken nie.
